As Gabriel and I get ever closer to our departure date(today) we are finding that just picking up and leaving everything is much more difficult then we had originally expected. A few minor road blocks have made the transition a little stressful.
Once we had made the plan to go I decided a yard sale was in order. Using the most popular yard search tool was in order, the newspaper. It turns out that a few of the local papers are owned by the same group and offer special pricing to run an add in both Chico and paradise news papers. Since the yard sale was Friday and Saturday it only made sense to run it both days. So we made the order and expected to see some good traffic flow come Friday:
Friday evening I went out and posted signs in as many places possible and made sure the traffic coming into or leaving town had no choice but to view a big neon colored sign. With all the roads covered and plenty of visibility I was excited for the turnout.
Friday went well and we made some big sales and things went smoothly. Saturday came around and from 8-1030 nobody showed up. I decided to get a paper and check my signs once so much time had passed and no one was showing.
I discovered that the newspaper had charged me for my add didn't run it. I was pretty upset. Next was the signs. It turned out that someone had taken all my signs down along with another sale for the same days. No wonder I had no traffic Saturday. Thoroughly disappointed in my fellow man.
What kind of place is this that yard sales have become competitive.
Dog eat dog!
I think our travels in the US will most likely lead is out of country in search of a place with more integrity, more honesty, solid values, and faith existent outside the confinements of religion.

Danger! watch yourself!
So we've been researching travel into eastern countires ie; China, India, Thailand, Bhutan, and a few others on the US State Department website and some of the places seem pretty "challenging"! I am wondering to myself if it's the fact that the US is a relatively safe place or the intent of the government to prevent us from travelling out of fear? There are lots of things that appeal to our Nomadic sense but none greater then the desire to see the unseen. My Dad has researched so many different potential travel ideas for us and keeps coming back to the same conclusion for The Now. Travel west of San Francisco. I am still compact and enjoy riding in my new Poco. Soon I will be to big to carry :( SOOO....any ideas? Something, maybe, dad hasnt thought of or an iteresting point of view on this?

Pimped my ride!
Getting geared up for our trip! Today we got the Osprey Poco Plus pack to take on our adventure. Dad says its too flashy but I'm digging my new ride! This thing comes with all the bells and whistles! talesofamountainmama.com had some great things to say about it and dad said it would fit our life perfectly. Next week dad is taking me out for my first adventure in our poco!
